Elena Loson was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1980. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Palermo (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and a Masters in Art specializing in Visual Arts from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. She earned a Bachelor of Art degree in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires, and the title of National Teacher at Prilidiano Pueyrredón School of Fine Arts (Buenos Aires, Argentina). She attended workshops by artists Tulio de Sagastizábal, Carolina Antoniadis and Tomás Fracchia.
She lives in Santiago de Chile, where, in addition to working as a visual artist, she is Content Director at Nube Lab (contemporary art + education).

Some of the awards she received are the Magna Cum Laude Award granted by the University of Palermo (2007), the Scholarship to Academic Excellence granted twice by the Master of the Catholic University of Chile (2008-2009) and the Cruce de los Andes Award granted by the Embassy of Argentina in Chile in recognition of the contribution made to cultural integration between both countries (2011). She is the author of La Pintura que se sabe pensada ó comentario acerca de la relación entre pensamiento dirigido y acto creador, for the book Pintura chilena contemporánea (práctica y desplazamientos disciplinares desde la Escuela de Arte UC), Catholic University Editions 2015.
